Google Pixel 4: Everything you need to know
Google Pixel 4 is no more a secret. We know what the Pixel 4 will look like because Google itself has shown us.
That's not because the Google Pixel 4 release date is just around the corner - we still fully expect the Pixel 4 launch to take place in October - but seemingly because the search giant doesn't want months of inane speculation of what its next phone will look like.
Here’s what to expect under the hood.

Release
For years now, Google has opted to release its Pixel lineup in the latter half of the year, after the usual roller coaster of smartphone releases from the first half of the year has died down.
More specifically, we expect a Google Pixel 4 launch date sometime in early October based on past form, with it likely that Google will take the opportunity to launch a few other hardware options at the same time, such as the long-rumoured Pixel Watch.
Price
Google Pixel 4 price has been climbing for years now.
With the extra features now included and the general emphasis on a premium fit and finish, the Pixel 4 - or at least the XL model - could be the first of the line to break the $1,000/£1,000/AU$1,500 mark.
There’ll probably also multiple different storage capacities offered at different prices. More information will arrive closer to the launch, so watch this space
Were all the previous Google Pixel 4 leaks wrong?
It’s been a couple of days since Google actually officially confirmed Google Pixel 4 on Twitter.
Usually, smartphone OEMs go about doing their business paying no heed to leaks but this surprising decision by Google to intervene and acknowledge a leaked design has many thinking what Google is up to.
Google confirming one of the leaked designs also means that the previous one (that showed a hole-punch cutout) is now completely out of contention, which is why a lot of people were earlier confused until the search giant cleared things up.
Thankfully, YouTuber John Prosser from Front Page Tech has some insights into the whole matter.
According to him, Google had three teams working on three different Pixel 4 prototypes at one point. This was done mainly to avoid a repeat of the Pixel 3 XL design and also to avoid a tidal wave of leaks that happened with the Pixel 3 XL. Prosser’s source, who is said to be in Google’s hardware team, said that the hole-punch design was the first prototype, which also explains the first leak. The third prototype is what Google confirmed two days back and it doesn’t come with a notch.
Verdict
Google Pixel 4 will be a flagship device which comes with a lot of strong features. The cameras are great that can click excellent images. The storage is massive so that you can save a lot of files and documents in it. The inclusion of quick charging and wireless charging makes the device premium. Overall, if you are looking for a smartphone at this price range, you can go for the Google Pixel 4.
